      • Dosage may need to be adjusted in the elderly and patients with severe renal impairment.
    • Precautions

    • Before medication: It is necessary to carefully inquire about the drug allergy history and perform a penicillin skin test. Those with a positive skin test are (contraindicated).
    • During medication
      • Strictly follow the doctor's advice, and do not (arbitrarily) increase or decrease the dosage or stop the medication to avoid affecting the therapeutic effect or leading to drug resistance.
      • Food has no significant effect on drug absorption, and it can be taken on an empty stomach or after meals. However, for those with obvious gastrointestinal reactions, it is recommended to take it after meals to reduce gastrointestinal irritation.
      • Monitor adverse reactions during medication. If severe allergic reactions, persistent diarrhea, etc., occur, stop the medication immediately and seek medical attention in a timely manner.
      • Amoxicillin may cause false-positive results in copper sulfate urine glucose tests and interfere with the determination results of serum aminotransferase and lactate dehydrogenase.
    • Special populations
      • Pregnant women should use this product only when necessary. Since a small amount of amoxicillin can be secreted in breast milk, nursing mothers may cause allergies in infants after taking it.
      • This product can pass through the placenta, and the concentration in cord blood is 1/4 to 1/3 of the maternal blood concentration, so it is (contraindicated) in pregnant women.
      • The concentration in breast milk is about 10% of the blood concentration, and nursing women may cause allergies in infants after taking it.
    • Drug Interactions

    • Probenecid can delay the renal excretion of amoxicillin, increasing the blood concentration of amoxicillin and prolonging its half-life.
    • In vitro, chloramphenicol, macrolides, sulfonamides, and tetracyclines can interfere with the antibacterial effect of amoxicillin. Pay attention when using in combination.
    • Taking amoxicillin with contraceptives may reduce the effect of contraceptives.
